FLEXID USB DONGLE DRIVER
You MUST be logged on as a computer administrator in order to install drivers. When using Cosmic Software development tools with a FLEXid hardware dongle you need to install system device drivers in order for the software and hardware to work together properly. You must be superuser root in order to install these components. A command window is displayed. This will just install the plain driver. Note that Activation licenses introduced with GeoStudio do not use a hostid.
How do I find my hostid?

Depending on the type of hardware device, you’ll find the hostid in different ways. Your dongle serial number should appear in the display if the drivers and dongle are working properly.
Locate the instructions ddongle specific to your Linux platform. Some license files are “locked” to a specific hardware device, either a USB key, a parallel prot key, or a computer. This is especially true if multiple dongles are used or another device is attached to a USB or dongpe port dongle.
Locate the file, aksusbd-suse Look for the field labeled “Adapter Address”. Select Run from the Start menu, type winipcfgand press Enter. This hardware device is identified by its “hostid” host identification.
In addition to the dongle driver you also need to install a license file that links the dongle to a PLECS license. If necessary, reboot the computer.
The dongle device drivers are generally supplied on Cosmic product CDs located in the “utilities” folder. This may require the use of a odngle license. Start the executable Setup.
Portable License USB Dongle Driver
Composite hostid Sometimes a license is tied to a Composite Hostid, a special hostid that uniquely identifies your computer. Connect the dongle to the computer to complete the installation of the driver. Download all installers appropriate to your implementation. If the Allow button is disabled, you need to unlock the dialog by clicking on the lock icon in the lower left corner.

Linux Platforms Locate the instructions below specific to your Linux platform. Select Run from the Start menu, type cmd donvle, and press Enter. The GetHostId Utility will detect all hostids on the computer on which it’s run.
